FIELD: physics, optics.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus for basing lenses in cylindrical holders is designed to rotate the holders and measure decentring of optical surfaces of the lenses. The apparatus includes a bushing in which a base plane is turned in the form of a ring for basing the end of a cylindrical lens holder. The base plane in the form of a ring is parallel to the upper plane of the bushing, where plastic material is used to attach three separate straps in the form of parallelepipeds, the lateral sides of which are the base for the cylindrical surface of the lens holder. There is an opening in the bushing for preventing contact of protruding parts of the optical surface of the lens when the lens holder rests on the base plane in the form a ring. The diameter of the cylindrical surface of the bushing is made with a guaranteed clearance, which enables to move the lens in the holder using the straps.

EFFECT: preventing uncontrolled pressure on the lens holder and high accuracy of determining decentring of optical surfaces of lenses.
