FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for finish treatment and check of parameters of large mirrors of telescopes. The method is implemented by taking by contact linear three-point spherometer of geometrical characteristics of the surface on its edge by several diametric sections. Spherometer is placed sequentially along the radial direction at the same distance from edges of the detail in various sections. By the relative difference in the measured readings of sag arrow in mutually opposite directions an optical axis offset value with reference to geometrical centre of the mirror is determined. Spherometer contains a housing, fixed in the housing in one line two supports on edges, measuring sensor in the centre and three stops. One stop is located sideways of sensor and two stops are on one of end faces below the housing horizontally with a possibility of their fixing on a lateral area of measured mirror.
EFFECT: measurements of decentring of optical axis of aspherical surface of large optical details with the diameter above 200 mm with high precision.
