SUBSTANCE: method for determining distance to the object involves a video scope including the first light emitter and the second light emitter; with that, the first light emitter can emit light through a hole with at least one shadow forming element. The method involves capture of at least one first image at the first activated light emitter and the second deactivated light emitter, capture of at least one second image at the second activated light emitter and the first deactivated light emitter, determination of the first variety of brightness values of pixels in the above at least one first image, determination of the second variety of brightness values of pixels in the above at least one second image, determination of ratios of brightness of the second variety of brightness values to the first variety of brightness values and determination of distance to the object using the above brightness ratios.
EFFECT: higher measurement accuracy.
