FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a coated reinforcing member, which enables to obtain a fibre-reinforced product, particularly using an infusion method. A composition made from a solid resin and carbon nanotubes is deposited on a reinforcing member, selected from fibres, moulded fibres, nonwoven materials, knitted fabric and mats with ordered fibres and/or fabrics. The composition is heat treated at temperature higher than the melting point or glass transition range but lower than the crosslinking temperature, optionally, of a self-crosslinked solid resin. The composition is fixed on the surface of the reinforcing member. Described also is a method of making a fibre-reinforced product using the coated reinforcing member and use of the coated reinforcing member to make products for industrial purposes, for making wind turbine blades, for use in motor car construction, sports products and when making boats.
EFFECT: improved transverse tensile strength and failure viscosity of the fibre-reinforced product made using an infusion method.
