SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an object holder, particularly an object glass holder device designed for automated processing of object glasses, as well as a technique for automated processing of material fixed on an object glass. An object glass holder (1) with at least one bearing surface (3) for holding an object glass (2), wherein the bearing surface (3) has a longitudinal strap (4) and a cross strap (5) placed at right angles to the longitudinal strap (4), the longitudinal strap (4) being arranged such that the object glass (2) lies with the middle of the lower side (9) on the longitudinal strap (4) and at least part of the bearing surface (3) is a smooth surface (29), such that during use the object glass (2) is held by an adhesion force between an out-flowing reagent and the lower side (9) of the object glass (2) on one hand and, on the other hand, by the smooth surface (29), and/or at least part of the bearing surface (3) is a non-slippery surface (22).

EFFECT: easy manufacture, providing reliable support for the object glass during automatic colouring and simultaneously preventing uncontrolled leakage of reagent due to capillary currents.
