FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended mainly for study of the low-melting alloys with melting temperature tmelt below 700K÷1000K, not ensuring sample incandescence, for example, tin-lead solder. Method differs in that on the rod deflector is installed, it is located at side of the substrate with studied sample and opposite to the photocell, mainly at right angle to the rod axis; the emitter illuminated the sample, located on the substrate, and deflector, the emitter regulation ensures uniform maximum contrast of the sample contour at the deflector background. The device contains substrate with sample located on rods in the horizontal electric furnace, the photocell with lens, connected with PC, the difference is in that it has deflector installed on the rod and made as curved or flat plate out of high-melting metal, for example molybdenum. In particular the technical solutions ensure in temperature range 700K÷1000K permanent uniform and contract highlighting of the entire contour of the studied sample with simultaneous illumination of the front hemisphere of the surface of the studied sample.
EFFECT: expansion of functional possibilities, increased level of objectivity, stability and authenticity of surface tension or density of metal melts determination.
