FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to applied physics, namely to determination of physical and chemical properties of metal alloys by geometry of “large drop”, i.e. by measuring parameters of fixed ellipsoidal drops alloy specimen lying on substrate by means of photometric volume-measuring. Method consists in fact that from beginning of melting in photodetector signal of each i-image of value of dispersion σi is determined and compared with previously set threshold value equal to threshold at melting point tpl0. At that, in case of deviation from threshold value of dispersion by preset value signal on change of non-uniformity of brightness, for example, in images and presence of contamination of sample. After that, temperature gradient is decreased by means of electric power control, with reduction of non-uniformity during preset time experiment is continued, and at maintaining non-uniformity of its stopped. Device includes alarm and determination of dispersion units, comparator, and threshold comparator. At that, input of dispersion determining unit is connected to output of photodetector, its output is connected to computer and one of inputs of comparators, other comparator input is connected to regulator output threshold comparator, and output of comparator is connected to alarm unit.
EFFECT: technical result is efficient evaluation of contamination of sample, reduced subjectivity decision extension or termination of experiments, broader functional capabilities of method, low qualification requirements for experimenter.
