FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of immobilising highly radioactive wastes into a porous glass ceramic matrix obtained by foaming molten recycled lamp glass. Immobilisation and fixation of radionuclides in the porous glass ceramic is carried out by performing the following processes: impregnating the glass ceramic, saturating, drying, heating with distillation of gaseous products, calcination at 1000°C.
EFFECT: invention enables to use a readily available, cheap sorbent with high open porosity.
