FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to the manufacture of platinum alloys for the jewellery industry. An alloy contains, wt %: platinum 58.0-59.0, copper 36.0-35.5, cobalt 5.0-4.8, rhodium 0.7-0.5, palladium 0.29-0.1 and iridium 0.01-0.1. The method of alloy manufacture consists in that in the first melting chamber the first molten metal of pure metals of the declared composition is prepared, and at the same time in the second melting chamber - the second molten metal of the declared composition from the waste recirculated metals, the molten metals are prepared by the placement of the respective components into cold crucibles, their placement into the melting chamber, where the vacuum is created, heating of the components of both alloys until their melting within 40-120 sec at the temperature of 1700-1900°C. Then the molten metal obtained in the second chamber is cleaned from impurity and is mixed with the first molten metal, the obtained liquid mass is poured into moulding forms at the temperature of moulding of 800-900°C, held during 180-600 sec until obtaining the cured alloy, cooled and held in the moulding forms until full cooling at the ambient temperature of 15-30°C.
EFFECT: improvement of the quality of the platinum jewellery alloy and ease of its processing at the manufacture of jewellery from it.
