SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to production of hot-rolled plates on a reversible plate mill, and can be used at production of roll stock for pipes with the wall thickness 11-25 mm. To get the hot-rolled plates with the strength category up to X80 with increased viscosity and containing in its microstructure the ferrite-pearlite component the consumption of water pumped to the lower and top surfaces of roll stock is set according to the ratio Vl = (1.5÷2.5)×Vt, where Vl - consumption of water pumped to the lower surface of roll stock, m3/h; Vt - consumption of water pumped to the top surface of roll stock, m3/h. the section of steel of the regulated composition is used.

EFFECT: obtaining hot-rolled plates with the strength category up to X80 with increased viscosity and containing a ferrite-pearlite component in its microstructure.
