FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, particularly, to production of terminal bolts for track rail joints. Bolt rectangular head and is spherical thrust face are roughed and finished. Then, said head and its thrust surface are calibrated while chamfer is made on bolt rod end. Pre-shaping of head and its thrust face is effected at one stamping position. Note here that head is shaped to rectangle. Rectangle side makes (0.7-0.9)S where S is larger or smaller side of finished rectangular bolt head. Head and thrust face calibration is performed at stamping position simultaneously with rod reduction for thread cutting and chamfering.
EFFECT: uniform load distribution at cold-upsetting tool, hence, favourable flow of metal, accurate sizes and higher hardness.
