FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to detection methods of subsynchronous resonance in electrical power systems with auxiliary condensers. According to the invention, the method involves stages at which there created is demodulated voltage signal (UDem) by adding the minimum value of negative half-period of the wave form of discrete processed voltage signal (UX) to the maximum value of positive half-period of the wave form of discrete processed voltage signal (UX) for time intervals having length (TL) of signal, where (TL) is a constant parameter provided by the user. A root-mean-square (RMS) value is calculated for demodulated voltage signal UDem and compared to the value of other constant parameter provided by the user as a level of the root-mean-square value (RMSLev), and if value (RMS) is lower than value (RMSLev), it means that subsynchronous resonance is absent, and if value RMS is higher than value (RMSLev), then, presence of subsynchronous resonance is identified by determination of voltage amplitude (AFss) of subsynchronous resonance and/or frequency (fFss) of subsynchronous resonance.
EFFECT: acceleration of a subsynchronous resonance detection process.
