SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular cooling of steel sheets at rolling mill. Metal sheets (B) are cooled at cooling site (1) of the rolling mill using multiple devices (2) of cooling medium supply to cool the top side (O) of sheet and lower side (U) of metal sheet ensuring by cooling of the specified state of the metal sheet (B) in reference point at output and/or after output from the cooling site (1), the cooling medium supply is determined for the first and second devices (2) of the cooling medium supply, that are installed opposite relatively to the metal sheet (B), at that determination of cooling medium supply for the first and second devices (2) of the cooling medium supply is performed based on the specified heat flow removed from the looking towards the appropriate device (2) of the cooling medium supply to the sheet side (O, U), at that for the appropriate removed heat flow temperature is considered, in particular, temperature (To, Tu) of surfaces of the appropriate sheet side (O, U). The sheet cooling is controlled using the machine readable program code.

EFFECT: assurance of flatness of steel sheets at simultaneous high capacity of the rolling mill.
