FIELD: mill products.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the control of a cooling device made with the possibility of regulating the temperature of the rolled material passing through the cooling device. The total enthalpy of the system formed by the rolled material is determined. A scale formation degree is determined, preferably containing a scale formation coefficient depending on the chemical composition and surface temperature of the rolled material. Calculation of the temperature distribution and/or average temperature in the rolled material is provided based on a model for calculating the temperature, which includes a certain total enthalpy and a degree of scale formation. The cooling capacity of the cooling device is set taking into account the calculated temperature distribution and/or average temperature in the rolled material.
EFFECT: as a result, accurate prediction and regulation of the temperature of the rolled material is provided.
