FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: engine crankshaft is configured with one of two patterns of cranks wedging corresponding to working cycle order 1-5-2-3-4 or 1-4-3-2-5 whereat minimum crankshaft unbalance results from the action of moments of 2nd-order forces of inertia of reciprocating masses. Moment from 1st-order forces of inertia is equalised by counterweights fitted on crankshaft and one equalising shaft. Note here that parameters of counterweights are defined proceeding from the conditions of complete equalising of the 1st-order moment.
EFFECT: better equalisation of five-cylinder engine with one equalising shaft.
