SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a document handling means which executes a process of combining a plurality of structured documents. Each structured document is constructed from elements on a plurality of hierarchy levels and includes at least one page element. Information on print settings of the page element included in the structured document and information on print settings of an element at a higher hierarchy level than the page element is generated. Before executing the combination process, information on print settings of the page element is generated based on information on print settings of an element at a higher hierarchy level, which is received via a receiving step. The generated information on print settings is added to the page element. The structured document which includes the page element to which information on print settings generated via a generation step is added and another structured document which includes the page element to which information on print settings is added are combined.

EFFECT: facilitating combination of a plurality of documents while supporting information on print settings with each page.
