FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to the method and device to measure consumption of liquid media, in particular, odorant, and may be used, for instance, in gas industry, chemical and petrochemical industry. In the proposed method before determination of the odorant consumption value, they measure environmental temperature, at the same time they determine values of odorant density and coefficient of surface tension of odorant depending on the measured value of environmental temperature, then they determine the mass of one drop of odorant depending on the produced value of odorant density and coefficient of surface tension of odorant. Then they determine the number of odorant drops that fell during the specified period of time, and with account of the found value of the mass of one drop and odorant density they determine the volume flow and mass consumption of odorant.
EFFECT: technical result is increased accuracy of odorant consumption calculation.
