SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be used in a global navigation satellite system (GNSS). The method includes a GNSS receiver receiving signals transmitted by a GNSS transmitter on-board satellites located in the field of view of an object; updating service data in the object, wherein the service data include satellite clock data indicating satellite internal clocks, satellite orbit data indicating satellite positions, satellite delay code shift data relating to delay code shifts of GNSS transmitters, and ionospheric model data indicating the state of the ionosphere; determining, based on the ionospheric model data, ionospheric delay data indicating corrections relating to signal delays; wherein the signal delays occur as a result of signals passing through the ionosphere between transmission of signals from GNSS transmitters and reception of signals by the GNSS receiver; and determining the position of the object based on signals, satellite clock data, satellite orbit data, satellite delay code shift data and the determined ionospheric delay data.
EFFECT: high accuracy of locating objects.
