FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the magnetic measurements in wells during drilling. Essence of the invention is as follows: three-axis vector magnetometer is secured to the drilling string assembly. The three-axis vector magnetometer is made with possibility to measure three orthogonal components of the magnetic field. The drilling string assembly is rotated. The average value (BTwR) of the full magnetic field during the drilling string assembly rotation is determined in accordance with the equation selected from the group comprising:

where each member Bxi, Byi and Bzi corresponds to three orthogonal components of the magnetic fields.
EFFECT: possibility to estimate inclination and azimuth of the drilling string assemblies in the well bore during drilling, determination of presence of the external electromagnetic materials and distances to them, including deviation from the existing well, well crossing and check of the Instrument integrity.
