FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to quantum cryptography and specifically to transmission of confidential information from a transmitting to a receiving ground station in the form of single-photon optical pulses through low-orbit satellites, using reflecting or redirecting devices located on said satellites. The method includes transmitting information from a transmitting to a receiving ground station in the form of single-photon optical pulses through low-orbit satellites on which there are reflecting and/or redirecting devices, which receive radiation from a transmitting ground station, reflect and/or redirect said radiation to a receiving ground station or to other satellites, followed by redirection to the receiving station, wherein a transmitter outputs single photons at a certain rate.
EFFECT: longer transmission range while maintaining absolute confidentiality.
