FIELD: optic communication
SUBSTANCE: device for registering an optical signal from a satellite can be used in quantum cryptography and means for registering an optical signal from a satellite. The device includes a mount on which two telescopes are placed, each of which has a receiving unit containing a wave polarization controller placed in front of the beam-splitting element; a beam-splitting element placed in front of two conjugate bases, and a half-wave plate placed in front of one of the bases. Each basis contains at least two detectors of single photons and a polarizing prism installed in front of them.
EFFECT: increasing the rate of quantum key generation and reducing the level of quantum errors in the key due to the use of two telescopes when registering the optical signal from the satellite.
