FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a support for an ethylene epoxidation catalyst. Said support includes aluminium oxide, which contains a first part of aluminium oxide particles having particle size equal to or greater than 3 mcm, and up to 6 mcm, and a second part of aluminium oxide particles having particle size equal to or less than 2 mcm. Not more than 40% of the pores of the support have pore size equal to or less than 1 mcm. The invention also relates to a catalyst having said support and a method for vapour-phase conversion of ethylene into ethylene oxide in the presence of said catalyst.
EFFECT: disclosed support enables to obtain catalysts having high activity and selectivity.
