FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to application of 1,1-diethoxyethane as antidetonation additive for increasing detonation stability of low-boiling petrol with initial boiling point from 80°C to 120°C, research and motor octane number of which constitute not less than 70 units. 1,1-diethoxyethane constitutes from 5 vol % to 20 vol % relative to the total volume of low-boiling petrol and is the only antidetonation additive, with research octane number of petrol increasing by not less than 40 units. Invention also relates to automobile petrol with research octane number from 110 to 140 units, including low-boiling petrol with initial boiling point from 80°C to 120°C as basic petrol, 1,1-diethoxyethane from 5 vol % to 20 vol % relative to the total volume of low-boiling petrol as the only antidetonation additive, and standard additives.

EFFECT: increase of detonation stability of low-boiling petrol.
