FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes oxidising corresponding aromatic amines in an aqueous-organic solvent with singlet oxygen, generated by irradiation with visible light in the presence of substituted phthalocyanines as photosensitisers. Compounds of the following structural formula are preferably used as substituted phthalocyanines: , R=H, t-Bu, R1=H, PhSO2, t-Bu, R2=H, PhSO2, M=ZN, Al, in both homogeneous and heterogenised form. The light source can be a laser or LEDs. The phthalocyanines used are known compounds.
EFFECT: selective production of para-aminophenols in a single step with high output and can be used industrially.
