SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing compounds of formula (I) or (II) or mixtures of their isomers. In formula (I) or (II), R1, R2, R3 and R4 independently represent -H, -Alk, -Hal, -OH, -OAlk, -OAr, -SAlk, -SAr, -NR2; R is -Alk, -AlkN(Alk)2, -AlkN(Ar)2, -AlkNAlkAr, -AlkOH, -AlkOAlk, -AlkOAr, -AlkSAlk, -AlkSAr, -Ar; R' and R'' independently represent -Alk-, -Alk(NAlk)-, -Alk(NAr2)-, -Alk(NAlkAr)-, -Alk(OH)-, -Alk(OAlk)-, -Alk(OAr)-, -Alk(SAlk)-, -Alk(SAr)-, -Ar-; Alk is C1-C16 alkyl, C3-C16 cycloalkyl, C2-C16 alkenyl, C2-C16 alkynyl, Ar is phenyl, Hal is a halogen selected from -Cl, -Br, -I. Methods involve reacting corresponding halides , where Hal is halogen, selected from -Cl, -Br, -I with corresponding amine of formula or in inert atmosphere in two-phase water-organic system, in an alkali metal carbonate medium in the presence of an antioxidant and a catalyst based on ammonium or phosphonium salts.

EFFECT: high output of tertiary amines of formula (I) or (II) or mixture of isomers thereof to 80–90 %, conversion of starting products to 99–100 %, reducing the process time to 2 hours and eliminating the need for labor-consuming and resource-consuming methods of separating and cleaning products.
