FIELD: organic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the synthesis of para-acetylaminophenol (paracetamol) used in medicine as an analgesic and antipyretic. The method for obtaining para-acetylaminophenol consists in the oxidation of aniline, followed by acylation of the resulting para-aminophenol and isolation of the target product, is characterized by the fact that in order to increase the yield, the process of oxidation of aniline with ammonium persulfate (PSA), or potassium (PSP), or sodium (PSS) is carried out in the presence of a second oxidizing agent hydrogen peroxide at a molar ratio of aniline:PSA (PSA, PSS):H2O2 1:1,5:2 at 40–50°C for 10–12 h with continuous bubbling of the reaction mixture with air.
EFFECT: increasing the yield of the target compound and simplifying the technology for its production.
