FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrocavitation devices and can be used for development of cavitation in jet flows, for example, ship repair, oil-and-gas industry, etc. Cavitator comprises the casing with the internal through chamber including the inlet with cylindrical section and confuser with convergence angle α. Besides, it comprises the expansion chamber, side holes and outlet composed by the diffuser with divergence angle β. Cavitator internal through chamber includes transition sections with ribbed inner side surface. Inlet cylindrical section is located at cavitator inlet to extend into said confuser. Outlet of the latter is connected via one of said transition sections with expansion chamber inlet with stepped inner side surface. Expansion chamber mid section features maximum diameter relative to the other stepped section and is communicated with η lateral holes. Note here that the expansion chamber outlet is connected via the other section with the diffuser inlet with stepped inner side surface.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of removal of hard-to-remove sediments.
