FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to toner for developing an electrostatic latent image formed via an electrophotographic method, an electrostatic recording method and an electrostatic printing method; and a method of forming an image, an image forming device and a process cartridge, each employing said toner for developing an electrostatic latent image. The disclosed toner includes: a core particle containing at least resin binder, a dye and a lubricant; and shell on the surface of the core particle, wherein the toner releases a supernatant fluid having a transmission coefficient of 50-95% with respect to light with wavelength of 800 nm, wherein the supernatant fluid is formed adding 3 g of the toner to 40 g of ion exchange softened water containing 0.5 wt % sodium dodecyl sulphate, followed by mixing for 90 min and irradiation with ultrasonic waves at 20 kHz and 80 W for 5 min, and the liquid containing dispersed toner is centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 5 min.
EFFECT: producing toner with a core-shell structure, the shell satisfactorily performing its function of improving stability and static characteristics of the toner, and the separated shell does not stick to the toner-regulating blade.
