FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes reacting 3-carboxymethyl-1-adamantanecarboxylic or 1,3-adamantyldiacetic acids, substituted at the pre-bridge positions, with fuming nitric acid in the presence of phosphorus tribromide in molar ratio of 1:0.02-0.1 with respect to adamantane raw material and copper (I) bromide in molar ratio of 1:0.002-0.01 with respect to the initial substrate in a medium of concentrated sulphuric acid, followed by addition of 100% formic acid and ageing the reaction mixture.
EFFECT: low cost of production is achieved owing to high output of desired products, lower amounts of fuming nitric acid and 100% formic acid, low consumption of concentrated sulphuric acid.
