FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes heating of the section, its rough longitudinal rolling to set thickness, rough transverse rolling with width breakdown of width, intermediate cooling-down of the produced rolled material to set temperature, its final transverse rolling during first runs with further transition to final longitudinal rolling till obtaining of the required strip thickness, and further accelerated cooling. The section is heated with holding in the holding zone of the furnace at specified releasing temperature for at least 1.5 hours until obtaining of the temperature gradient through cross-section of the blank max. 40°C, at that in the first runs after cooling-down of the final stage the transverse and longitudinal rolling till rolling thickness below 4 thicknesses of ready strip is performed with single relative squeezing maximum 8%, and during next runs - maximum 10%.
EFFECT: reduced probability of surface defects in near edge zone of the thick strip.
