FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: immunologically complicated recurrent peripheral corneal ulcers are treated by means of a keratoplasty with the use of permeable and porous titanium nickelide. A sheet implant made of this material, cut out in size of an ulcerous defect, curved as an eyeball and fixed by no special aids covers a prepared surface bed of a corneal site of interest. To reduce the risk of postoperative complications and cut the length of recovery, the implant is impregnated with anti-inflammatory agents before implantation.
EFFECT: as compared to conventional ulcer repair, the method is more consistent and less labour-consuming to implement.
