FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: water treatment apparatus consists of a vessel 1 with a mixer 7 for mixing water with a coagulant, a vessel 2 with a mixer for adding microsand and a flocculant to the mixture, a vessel with a mixer 3 for mixing and holding the mixture and a settling tank 4 with thin-layer modules, equipped with overflow channels, a pipe for pumping out the obtained sludge, as well as devices for separating microsand from the sludge. The device for separating microsand from the sludge is a wash column 5 equipped with perforated trays with a 30-60% flow cross-section. The wash column 5 is connected to a pulsation system 18 and is provided with a pipe for pumping out the obtained sludge, which is connected to the upper part of the column, and a pipe which connects the lower part of the column with feeders for feeding microsand into the mixture.
EFFECT: invention provides more efficient sludge processing for separating microsand and returning the microsand into the process.
