FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention describes a motor fuel additive which contains a reaction product of methyl diethanolamine and alkyl salicylic acid of formula: OH-R(R1)-COOH, where R is an aromatic ring, and R1 is a paraffin hydrocarbon radical containing 16-18 carbon atoms, obtained during a chemical reaction in molar ratio of amine to acid of 1.00:0.95 to 1.00:1.05.
EFFECT: use of the additive provides improved anticorrosion properties of both hydrocarbon fuels and petrols containing oxygen-containing octane-increasing components.
