FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: cutting unit is located on the main frame and has a central section and at least two side sections located near the central section. The sections of the cutting unit contain a flexible knife bar and at least one transporting device located behind the knife bar. On the side sections the transporting device is designed in the form of at least one endless conveyor belt located next to the central section, for conveying the harvested mass cut by the knife bar, parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cutting unit toward the central section. The side sections have a plurality of support levers pivotally fixed on the main frame. The support levers of each side section support the knife bar. There is at least one bearing element which supports at least one conveyor belt. When the vertical deflection of at least one support lever this support lever and the bearing element are movable independently of each other.

EFFECT: cutting unit responds flexibly to uneven ground and ensures optimum adaptation of the knife bar to the relief of the soil.
