SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for the operation of a reaper, a reaper implementing the claimed method, and a combine harvester with the above-mentioned reaper. The method for the operation of the reaper, containing a knife bar operating in a rigid or flexible mode depending on harvesting conditions, and made with the possibility of operating in at least two different modes, is that in the first operation mode, the knife bar is directed over the soil at a predetermined cutting height, and in the second operation mode, the knife bar is adjacent to the soil, tracking the contour of the ground, while a reaper frame is moved at a predetermined distance from the soil. At the same time, when switching between at least two operating modes, the first or second sensor devices are activated to determine the distance without interrupting operation. The reaper contains the knife bar, made with the possibility of switching to a fixed or flexible mode of operation, depending on harvesting conditions, the first sensor device designed for operating the reaper in the first operation mode, and the second sensor device designed for operating the reaper in the second operation mode. In the first operation mode, the knife bar is directed over the soil at a predetermined cutting height, and in the second operation mode, the knife bar is operated in a flexible mode, in which it is adjacent to the soil, tracking the contour of the ground, while the reaper frame moves at a predetermined distance from the soil, while the activation of the first sensor or second sensor devices is carried out without interrupting the operation of the reaper. The combine harvester contains this reaper, which allows one to implement the above-mentioned method of harvesting cereals.

EFFECT: method for the operation of the reaper and the device of the reaper provide the possibility of a more flexible response to changing harvesting conditions.
