DEVICE FOR PROPELLING CHARGE IGNITION Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC F42C19/85

Abstract RU 2571459 C1

FIELD: explosion works.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to explosion equipment, to igniters for propelling charges in barrel chamber of artillery guns for caseless ammunitions. Device for ignition of propelling charge contains fastened on the gun-carriage control power unit and source of electromagnetic radiation of UHF range, connected via wave-guide, placed in bolt canal, with aerial on distal end, and placed in propelling charge metal initiators, made in form of ring-shaped element with gap, which has functions of resonance semi-wave radiator. Each metal initiator is equipped with transformer of accumulated electromagnetic energy into fire impulse, electrodes of which are fastened in gap of ring-shaped element. Peripheral electrode is rigidly connected with placed on dielectric substrate of resonance irradiator lead tubular case, which carries inside initiating charge, which adjoins pressed switching bridge, which is fixed on the central electrode via bearing isolator and is connected with it electrically by glower by means of contact microwelding. Central electrode in switching bridge is placed with guaranteed ring gap. Electrodes in gap of resonance radiator ring element are fastened by means of hard solder.

EFFECT: precise accuracy of ignition of propelling charge of module type of artillery ammunition, initiated at the time of shot by generated electromagnetic radiation by stationary source (magnetron), mounted on the gun-carriage.
