FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention describes method for extraction of proline from water solutions, which includes preparation of water-salt solution of proline by its dilution in saturated salting-out agent solution, extraction and analysis of equilibrium water phase, where extraction of proline is realised with solution of water-soluble polymer, namely copolymer of poly-N-vinylcaprolactam-N-vinylimidazole (PVC-VI) in distillated water with concentration 1.15-1.20 g/cm3 for 7-10 min from water-salt proline solution, which has pH 9.7±0.3, and ratio of volumes of water-salt proline solution and extractant is 5:2 and as salting-out agent applied is ammonium sulphate solution, then water-salt phase is separated from organic phase and analysis is carried out by method UV-spectrophotometry at wavelength 450 nm, concentration of proline in analysed water solution is found by graduated graph, coefficient of distribution (D) and degree of proline extraction (R, %) are calculated.

EFFECT: method of proline extraction from water solutions makes it possible to increase coefficient of distribution and achieve practically complete extraction of proline from water-salt solution, is characterised by expressivity and can be applied in analysis of proline-containing water solutions.
