FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used at moulding with lubing. Sheet of solid lubricant is placed between billet and mould female die. Lubricant can be represented by graphite, molybdenum disulphide, tungsten disulphide or boron nitride. To initiate billet plastic deformation female die applies force thereto. Deformation of biller containing titanium or it alloys, or zirconium or its alloys, is executed at temperature over 1000°. At plastic deformation, rate of shear between female die and billet should be lower than 0.5. Rate of shear is defined with the help of claimed formula.
EFFECT: decreased friction between female die and billet, lower probability of mould lock breakage, seizure or abrasion of the billet.
