FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protective and lubricating materials for forgings made of metals and alloys during their hot plastic deformation. Material includes roving fabric and water-based graphite lubricant evenly applied to one of its sides, while water-based graphite lubricant is a water-graphite composition based on colloidal graphite, wherein the graphite content per dry residue is 6-11% of the surface density of protective lubricating material.
EFFECT: ensuring the stability of dimensions of structural elements of forgings produced in batches on one set of a technological tool using protective and lubricating coating based on graphite-containing roving fabric without the need for periodic purification of the stamp engraving from the graphite-containing layer accumulated on the working surface.
