FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular, to protective-lubricating materials used in hot deformation of metals or alloys. Protective-lubricating material for hot plastic deformation of metals or alloys contains glass fabric and graphite lubricant applied on its one side on water basis. Surface density of protective-lubricating material is 310 ± 15 g/m2. Said glass fabric has thickness of 0.27 ± 0.03 mm. Graphite water-based lubricant contains colloidal graphite; the content of colloidal graphite in terms of the dry residue is equal to 8–14 % of the surface density of the protective-lubricating material.
EFFECT: providing stability of dimensions of structural components of forgings produced by batches on one set of process tool using protective-lubricant material, wherein there is no need for periodic cleaning of die engraving from graphitized-containing layer accumulated on working surface.
