FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: oxygen reacts only with borohydride metal (in accordance with reactivity series), with boron reacting with nitrogen exothermally and increasing reaction energy. In addition, boron compounds, for instance, boranes, borohydrides, produce large amount of hydrogen. Described are the most energetic borohydrides of beryllium, aluminium, lithium, lithium-aluminium, silicon, tetraborane and decaborane in combinations with seven different oxidisers: nitric acid, nitrogen pentoxide, ammonium nitrate, ammonium dinitramide, boron nitrate, beryllium nitrate, nitrogen hexoxide. To increase quantity of released hydrogen ammonia is added to reaction.
EFFECT: increase of jet stream speed with increase of reaction energy due to release of gas with low average molecular weight - hydrogen.
