FIELD: test equipment.
SUBSTANCE: device comprises several measuring cells for optical detection of test gas, each of which has an exciter for conversion of test gas into metastable state, the radiation source and the radiation receiver, and also the base unit connected to measuring cells by means of optical fibres. The base unit includes the frequency-controlled laser and the photodetector. The laser is excited by means of two-tone frequency modulation (TTFM) by generation for the emitted laser radiation, of the side bands (ω0-ω1)±1/2Ω and (ω0+ω1)±1/2Ω, where ω0 - the central frequency of the laser, ω1 - the first modulation frequency which is greater or equal to 1 GHz, and Ω - the second modulation frequency which is less or equal to 10 MHz.
EFFECT: possibility of detection of leaks in several test points and increase of sensitivity of the device.
