SUBSTANCE: claimed brake master cylinder comprises the cylinder main body, piston and seal fitted in the ring groove. Ring groove circular wall nearby the cylinder main body bottom has the outer wall section, steeped surface section and the wall inner section. The wall inner section features the flat surface section, parallel with the cylinder main body radial direction, and composed further inward in radial direction of the main body than the stepped surface section. The wall inner section is composed so that the central side abuts on the wall inner section earlier than in the wall inner section when the seal displaces toward the cylinder main body bottom.

EFFECT: ruled out increase in idle strokes number.
