FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a precise initial setting of clearance in coat applicator with the use of flat die. It can be used for production of high-quality articles with photographic, photo thermographic and thermographic images applied thereon. Coat applicator comprises support element for workpiece to be arranged thereon and coat application head. It comprises also first support element, adjusting mechanism, cam to displace first support element, cam drive and second support element. Head is fitted to required position of said first support element. First support element can displace in at least one axis. Adjusting mechanism displaces said first support element relative to support device for adjustment of clearance between the head and workpiece. Cam drive spins the cam. Can spinning adjusts head position relative to workpiece. Besides, coat applicator includes second support element to support the first support element. Said support elements can displace relative to each other in at least one axis. Cam drive is arranged at second support element to displace first support element for adjustment of said clearance. Adjusting mechanism comprises conical or wedge-like adjusting mechanism to interact with the first support element and is fitted thereat. Said conical or wedge-like adjusting mechanism can displace in direction, in fact, perpendicular, to at least one axis. Said conical or wedge-like adjusting mechanism comprises drive to displace said conical or wedge-like adjusting mechanism for adjustment of the first support element position relative to second support element. Invention aims at increasing the precision of the first initial setting to allow adjustment of clearance in increments approximating to ten mcm. Detection of substrate splices and defects is executed ahead of clearance wherein coat application is performed. Advance control controller drives off the die head immediately to prevent its damage and coat application process interruption.
EFFECT: extrusion head return to working position after passing by the clearance are with splice or defect.
