SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel functionalised polymer containing a polyene monomer link and at least one link of general formula 
, wherein m is an integer from 2 to 5 inclusively, as well as to a rubber composition containing a functionalised polymer and to a method of using a rubber composition. The disclosed polymer is characterised by a production method which includes anionic-initiated polymerisation of monomers, which include at least one type of polyene, using a compound of general formula 
as an initiator, wherein M is an alkali metal atom, R is a hydrocarbyl group, each group Gp is independently a protective group, and m is an integer from 2 to 5 inclusively, and subsequent hydrolysis of each of said protective groups to obtain hydroxyl groups.
