SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a sensor device in a banknote processing machine. At the same time the invention relies on a sensor device in a banknote processing machine with a transportation device, which moves banknotes subject to processing over the sensor device, with a cleaning device, which cleans the sensor device or the transparent area of the sensor device, a control device managing components of the banknote processing machine, means to increase the distance between the transportation device and the sensor device, besides, the control device controls the means and the cleaning device so that the distance between the transportation device and the sensor device increases by the means during cleaning of the sensor device with the cleaning device, the transportation device is active during cleaning of the sensor device, and to clean the sensor device, the cleaning device uses the gas flow.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of processing.
