FIELD: physics, computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to counterfeit-protected multilayer data media. A data medium includes at least one base layer, a layer with graphical elements deposited on the said base layer, one or more layers with information on the colouring of personal data and a transparent polymer layer on top of all layers, having an achromatic component of the image of personal data. The layer with information on the colouring of personal data and the top layer with an achromatic component of the image of personal data have different refraction indices, and the top layer with an achromatic component of the image has a smooth surface. Due to total internal reflection in the transparent layers at different viewing angles of the multilayer article, the image of personal data changes from colour to achromatic.
EFFECT: invention improves the protection of personal data on an identification document from unauthorised modifications.
