FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in construction of small- and large-diameter pipelines, for welding of the parts with solid and developed cross-section and for jointing parts to tee-irons controlled by magnetic field. To get the weld, shrinkage is performed by multiple oncoming displacement of one part relative to the other. Arc space is closed and the weld is produced through the fused metal ply depth by the preset number of oncoming displacements at the speed of at least 20 mm/s.
EFFECT: higher quality of the welds owing to high stability of initial welding and uniform heating of the weld edges.
