SUBSTANCE: apparatus for generating sound waves comprises a first part which forms at least part of the case of the apparatus; a second part which forms at least part of the display of the apparatus; a flexible membrane connected in a first area of contact with the first part and in a second area of contact with the second part; and at least one actuator connected to the second part and configured to actuate the second part to enable displacement thereof, wherein said flexible membrane enables displacement of said second part to generate sound waves when actuating said second part through said at least one actuator.
EFFECT: enabling a display to generate haptic feedback and a sound signal of improved quality.
