FIELD: physics, computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electronic document reading device. The device has a physical thickness between a front display (12) surface and the back surface (14) of the device, wherein the device has an external interface (1010) installed at the edge of said device, a back panel (600), having an inner surface (600b) and an outer surface (600a) to provide said back surface of said device, wherein said back panel (600) is substantially transparent, and said inner surface (600b) of said back panel is substantially opaque, wherein said back panel has an recess (602) for said external interface (1010) such that the back surface of said external interface is substantially aflush with said back surface (14) of the device, which provides said outer surface of said transparent back panel, and wherein said opaque inner surface (600b) of said transparent back panel gives the perception that said device is thinner than said physical thickness of said device.
EFFECT: providing a durable and thin device by using a transparent outer surface and an opaque inner surface.
